What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
Because I work in surgery, I do crazy things every day! But the craziest thing I have ever done was joining the University of Mary Dance Team - without any prior dance experience. It turned out to be one of the best choices I have ever made. Even though I had to put a substantial amount of time and effort to keep up with the team, I grew an appreciation and love for dancing. I still enjoy dancing in my free time and am looking forward to taking more dance classes!

What are your strongest talents?
Some of my talents include: the ability to sing, meeting new people, and an overall drive to get good grades with plans to attend medical school in the near future. Because of my imagination, I am a creative person both artistically and musically. I have had the opportunity to perform in musicals, such as "Bye Bye Birdie", solos in church, and in school choir and music contests. I was also chosen to sing the national anthem at various athletic events. Lastly, one of my greatest is my ability to work with others, especially when I calm people as I take them to surgery, a highly stressful time in their life. My pageant experience has helped me greatly improve my ability to approach new people and strike up a conversation with them.

Name one personal accomplishment (in addition to being a State Titleholder) that makes you especially proud.
As part of my goal to reaching people, especially women, about the prevention and education of heart disease, I have recently started my own organization, which is yet to be named. Through this program, I speak to individuals in high school and college about exercising and eating right; I also approach various groups across the state on the signs and prevention of heart disease. I will also put on events to raise money for the American Heart Association. I will also speak to legislatures about providing free heart screenings. In February I took part in a "Go Red for Women" event in Bismarck; I am especially proud to be an advocate for heart disease prevention.

What is the most important thing you want the judges to know about you?
While growing up on a farm and participating in several sports and organizations, I learned the importance of an "irrepressible work ethic". Because of those experiences, I am a dedicated, responsible person with strong morals and goals. In addition to these qualities, I am a very disarming person with a warm heart. People often feel at ease around me and are able to open up about their lives, passions, or problems. I almost always smile and love a good laugh; I am an easy-going person with the confidence and charisma to take on the world!
